It is my great pleasure to support Cathy Deagle- Gammon in her bid for District 1 Counsellor. I have had the good fortune to work with Cathy in a variety of settings, both as a citizen of District 1, and as a volunteer on a community-based board. I have always found her to be focused, collaborative and thorough. Despite a very busy schedule, Cathy has the remarkable ability to juggle multiple priorities, build community relationships, and effectively manage district challenges. The attributes and experience she brings as a result of her professional career lend themselves very well to the rigours of her role. - Mary McDaid
As HRM Councillor of District 1, I first met Cathy through my involvement with Cheema Aquatic Club in Waverley. But, most recently, as Chair of the Waverley Amature Athletic Association (WAAA) Pickleball Committee, we met with Cathy on several occasions to seek her support and guidance in preparing a proposal to submit to the HRM Recreation Department for the construction of outdoor designated pickleball courts in the Charles L McDonald Park in Waverley. Our Committee found Cathy to be very interested in our initiative, helpful, and knowledgeable on how to go about completing and submitting our proposal. We have found Cathy to be very approachable and prompt to reply to any of our inquiries. We are pleased and very thankful for Cathy's dedication in representing us as HRM Councillor of District 1, and wish her the very best in her pursuit for re-election. - Mike O'Leary, Chair, WAAA Pickleball Committee, Chair, Cheema Alumni Crew, Lifelong resident of Lakeview

I was impressed with Cathy from day one. She hit the ground running and contributed immediately to Regional Council and Northwest Community Council debates and decisions. She comes to meetings prepared. She uses her passion, determination, training & experience, and diplomacy to advocate and lead effectively for her District and the Municipality. Being elected Deputy Mayor, after serving less than one term, demonstrated the high regard in which Cathy is held by her colleagues. - Tim Outhit District 16 Retiring Councilor

Cathy has brought her expertise in board governance and a passion for sharing her skillset for the betterment of her community. Cathy worked to position the LWF ratepayers board in a place of strength through reshaping its operating procedures and implementing best practice record keeping.
I’m very thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Cathy, and through that work observe the passion and strong leadership with which she operates.
District 1 sits where Halifax’s growing urban footprint meets the County’s legacy of rural independence. This dynamic brings the need to balance the realization of our growth potential with the enjoyment of the beautiful spaces that surround us. It brings the need to provide services for those young families who’ve chosen to start writing their futures in our district as well as those seniors who have spent their lives writing our history.
The seat of Councillor welds much power to influence our collective future. I trust Cathy’s collaborative nature, her passion for bettering the lot of those around her, along with her natural grace will bring all of our community members to the table to chart our path forward, together.
Cathy Deagle Gammon has my full support in her re election for District 1 seat on the HRM Regional Council. -
Jay Cameron, Fall River

Four years ago, both Sheila and I were nervous about a new councillor for the Musquodoboit Valley. She was a “city person” and how could she support a rural community???
All our fears were removed when she took the job. Cathy has been extremely supportive to ALL communities and organizations in the Musquodoboit Valley. We continually wonder how she can be at many of the dinners in our churches, community events, local organizational meetings and holiday events. She has volunteered, year after year, at the Halifax County Exhibition, either with the Lion’s Club serving food or in the office assisting me upstairs with organizational matters. She has even brought other government officials who have gained a better understanding of how the rural communities.
Cathy is a world wind of energy. Her commitment to Musquodoboit Valley is only part of her duties. Her advice has been extremely influential to many groups regarding the correct procedures to access services from HRM.
During hurricane Fiona, Cathy organized volunteers in our community to deliver much needed gasoline to families who were on the brink of disaster.
Cathy is a dedicated, motivational and inspirational individual who must be re-elected to the position of councillor for another term. - Yours truly, Joe and Sheila Fisher Middle Musquodoboit
